Hope is a flutter in a wing beat. Do you know which are you, a dove or a pidgeon? Hope carries the emergency of decission; must act now!
I am a dove.
I am noble, I feel love.
I bring a message of peace.
I’m calm, chic even.
On special days, I and my fellow doves burst into the sky like a bright cloud.
Or am I a pigeon?
I’m grey and a bit daft, I coo.
I’m an urban hawk’s dinner, all that’s left is a pile of feathers on a rock.
But I don’t mind the thread that’s tightly wound around my foot, I just limp on.
I know not to fly into windows, they’re just reflections of the sky.
I build my nest on an illuminated shop sign, tucked inside the letter A.
When a dog approaches, we take to the skies, sharp and fast, together. We’re less worried about the kids.
Hope is a projection work. It changes in time and that is an important story-telling feature. Duration is 3min. Size is scalable.

Which kind of light sources and what other materials and equipment are used?
The technique used in this piece involves projecting images with gobos (six in total), which form a sequence. This can be achieved using six separate projectors or three projectors with at least two custom-made gobo slots that allow for switching.
Additionally, the projectors must be capable of focusing, zooming, dimming, and gobo rotation. LED moving spotlights are preferable for this setup.
The piece was originally created using a GrandMA2 lighting console.

The piece is scalable and has been approximately 20 meters in height and 15 meters in width. The projection distance affects both the size and the brightness of the images.
Electricity consumption: Standard mains current (10A/16A).
Does the artwork use sound?
No sound.
Support and other structures: The work needs support structures, hanging points, or similar. Technical parts of it can be housed, for example, indoors and is projected through a window.
Please state which structures, hardware or other equipment is needed from the client: Only the gobos and the creation of the cue list, as well as all adaptation design, are provided by the artist. All other technical equipment is standard and should be supplied by the commissioner.
