Alexander Salvesen: Osmosis I-III

A triptych using overhead projectors, recycled glass objects, colour filters to create a representation of liquid water in a cell, 2020

Osmosis I-III begins with thoughts about water and the liquid balance within a cell. Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of solvent molecules through a selectively permeable membrane in the direction that tends to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides. Almost all life on planet Earth is striving for balance with its environment. If the balance is disturbed too much, the cell dies.
