Anne Roininen: Light Art Installation

Light art installations in apartment buildings set up in homes, the residents as makers and collaborators. Each artwork is separately named in situ. Site-specific, socially engaged light art.

Artist comes to knock on peoples' doors to ask if they want to take part in building a light art installation in their house. Then they set a meeting to bring the lights and make plan on how to light up their home. Every participant turns on their lights at the same time to exhibit the communal light installation. The residents get to take part in the artistic process while being the makers as well as part of the audience. While changing the cityscape, the artwork brings the residents and their neighbours together in a shared moment.
