405 nanometres of sci-fi and a longing for cosmic beauty, 2017

Sädesade is 405 nanometres of science fiction, a longing for cosmic beauty and a beckoning for Mother Earth.

The artwork sparked from a curiosity towards the idea of raining light – as if the light rays would fall like waterdrops. Via some experiments with laser and gravity-based water system, this has now been proved a very plausible scenario.

The pitch black environment, purple lasers and the meditative, organically generative rhythm and sound of the waterdrops create a space, where time bends by a little.

Master of Arts (Theatre and Drama), b. 1994, Lives in Helsinki
