Petra Martinez: Sidetrack Secrets

SIDETRACK SECRETS is a collection of layered objects that can be seen if you look close enough. Light art installation, mixed media, various found materials (seeds, moss, mold, plastic fibers, glass).

Wandering on the sidetracks. Mind is open and thoughts are imaginative. Who and what was here before me? Humans, animals, plants. I see traces of them. Beautiful and ugly at the same time. I decided to leave here something of myself and take something with me. For this piece I raised mold on the surface of a sheet glass, collected seeds and pressed them between sticky plastic, walked in the junkyards and wastelands and cleaned sideways.
