RAMBOLL VALOSTUDIO: Colors of the shadows
Colors of the shadows is participatory installation with wooden huts, 2020
The work Colors of the shadows plays with the human ability to perceive colored light and the shadows it creates. The work is participatory and encourages exploring the connection between light and shadow in an unusual way. When the visitor enters the hut, multicolored shadows are reflected on the wall surface. With the help of the work, the visitors can experience for themselves the effects of colored light on the shadow image and learn to understand how light behaves. The work inspires visitors to experiment with modifying light and shadow using their own bodies.
The work consists of three triangular huts lit in different colors (red, green and blue) and equipped with colored lights. With the help of directional colored lights, colored shadows are formed on the wall surface of the hut.
Since 2017, located in Espoo, Finland
