Rami Saarikorpi: 360-STORIES
360-STORIES is a collection of interactive pictures. Through QR codes in the pictures you can die into the artwork and experience the landscape of the pictures through 360 images.
The work presents 360-degree images of landscapes and illuminated objects, both at night and during the day. In this work photographer Rami Saarikorpi addresses how the increase in the amount of light pollution is a problem that affects both animal behaviour and human well-being. The lighting in the images has been carefully designed by a light artist to ensure that it does not create any additional light pollution to the environment. In the places where nature is illuminated, the duration of the lighting is short to ensure that the local wildlife is disturbed as little as possible.
The art project was designed to raise awareness of the effects of light pollution on the environment and human well-being. In the 360-STORIES project, the photographer wants to highlight the problem of light pollution though art. He wants to encourage people to think about light pollution and its harmful effects. Light pollution can disrupt animals’ natural rhythms and increase their stress levels. It can also affect peoples’ sleep and concentration.
In the integrative part of the project, the images can be viewed as 360-degree images on mobile devices.
