KOKIMO
KOKIMO is a group of artists, founded in 2010 and it’s based in Helsinki, Finland.
All members of KOKIMO work actively in the fields of theatre, dance and visual art. Collaboration of equal artists is the core of KOKIMO’s working ethics.
By using performative methods, interventions and gestures, KOKIMO explores the relations between people and their environment.In KOKIMO’s pieces, the emphasis is on multi-sensory experiencing, not merely on viewing and hearing.
The light in KOKIMO pieces can be either the existing light, a naturally changing light that forms part of the work, or artificial lighting. It can also mean limiting the visibility or using darkness as a part of the artwork.
KOKIMO’s work has been presented both in Finland and internationally, and the group’s light art has been exhibited in Helsinki in both LUX Helsinki and the FLASH biennial.
